Aloo Matar Recipe: Aloo Peas Curry Recipe

I made this Aloo Matar Recipe for yesterdays breakfast and served it with ragi poori. It turned out really good. I made it with onions, ginger and garlic paste.

How To Make Aloo Matar Curry

Ingredients for Aloo Matar Recipe:

  • Potatoes - 3 large boiled, Cut in pieces
  • Tomatoes - 3 large pureed
  • Oil - 1 tblspn
  • Shahi Jeera / Black Cumin Seeds - 1 tsp
  • Onion - 1 large chopped finely
  • Ginger Garlic Paste - 2 tsp (You Can Purchase It By Clicking here)
  • Peas - 1/2 cup (You Can Purchase It By Clicking here)
  • Chilli Powder - 1 tsp  (You Can Purchase It By Clicking here)
  • Green Chilli - 2chopped finely
  • Turmeric Powder / Manjal Podi - 1 tsp
  • Garam Masala Powder - 1 tsp
  • Coriander powder - 1tsp   
  • Salt to taste
  • Sugar - 1 tsp

How to Make Aloo Matar Curry-Method:

Heat oil in a kadai or sauce pan. Add in shahi jeera. Let them sizzle for a min.Add onions and cook till golden. Add ginger garlic paste and mix well.

Add in tomato puree and cook till it thickens.Add in all the spice powders- turmeric powder, salt,Chilli powder,Coriander powder,Garam masala powder and mix well. Cook it for few minutes till oil separates from the mix.

Add in potatoes, Green peas and sugar and simmer for 1 to 2 mins,Mix well.Now add in 1 1/2 cup water and Simmer for 20-25 minutes on Medium flame.

Turn the heat off and gurnish with coriander leavs, serve Aloo Matar Recipe with roti.

Preparation Time : 10 mins
Cooking Time : 30 mins for 30 mins for cooking peas
Serves : 4 to 5
